A good Samaritan ...

Is it true or did I read it in the Telegraph???
Strangers rushed to a 14-year-old boy who had suffered multiple stab wounds, with a bicycle courier using his shirt to stem the blood. The second boy was chased before being cornered outside the Fleet St newsagency.

For Restaurant Deliverymen, Pork Fried Exploitation

Not exactly directly messenger related but those who deliver food by bicycle are definitely brothers in arms - and if the exploitation of these workers is being rectified that can only be a good thing for others in similar trades.

Fexengers Ride Again!

Hello all

I'm organising a team for the Gong Ride - did it last year and had a pretty mixed group of messengers, fessengers, exengers, commuters and a couple of the critical massiv. I know most of this forum rides every day but it's a nice day out ... and you can get drunk at the end (another thing some on this forum does every day).

It's on 2 November but entries are $50 if you register by Friday.

Below is the link to join the team ...

Hope to see some sydbma representation!

A Bike With One Gear

A Bike With One GearSo, I find myself bumping into Yogi for the third weekend in a row and he convinces me that I've got to post something to the SydBma website.
A couple of weeks ago I was pulled into entering the Stinkwater 24! hour film competition and despite a lot of dramas on the day me and housemates from the past and present managed to put together an entry within the 24 hour development timeframe.
One has to understand the rules of the competition to fully appreciate this little master work - obviously we did something alright because we came 2nd from a pretty big field (including over eager NIDA graduates) - special thanks to Paul 22 and Luba for their donation of a pretty awesome soundtrack.

Sydney to Wollongong

Sydney to Wollongong might not be the same as Paris-Brest-Paris, London-Dublin or even Sydney-Melbourne but it's got lots of lovely scenery to chew on and there are some knee popping hills for fixie riders.

Registering in advance seems the best way for me to get Louisa out of the car and on the bike - a few others have expressed interest as well - and it's always good to support the wider cyclist community.

I've registered a team on the site (http://register.gongride.org.au/?Fexengers) for messengers, fessengers, ex-engers, groupies etc -it'd be good to see some of the other Sydney messengers on the day (register before 5 October to get the cheap(ish) rate).
