You've been around Brine so you must know everything....

I met Chris today.... A lot of people told me not to talk about the accident (they had no idea what had actually happened.)... He had been a messenger for a lot longer than you and he'd had a really good track record... 7 years on the road in busy traffic with no real major accidents.... But he fucked up! He didn't see a Taxi speeding through some changing lights.... You can debate if the light was red or not (but the reality is motorists run red lights).... And if you get put in a wheelchair because someone in a motor vehicle is an asshole you have to live with it and so do your two kids.... Possibly even your wife- she might not be able to cope and she may take off.... Thats none of my business so i hope i don't get in shit if i talk about touchy subjects.... I saw him try to light a cigarette and i instantly admired him.... it was a game, it was a challenge.... It took a really fucking long time. My Dad is Mentally I'll -I think it stems back my Grand dad serving in Tobruk and tacking his mental frustration out on his children when he came home (fuck knows how you spell Tobruk i'm just a messenger)...- He is scared to live life and he can't even be fucked opening an ice cream packet.... I instantly admired Chris.... He considers himself lucky...

It occurred to me that the exact same thing happened to a mate of mine.... He was one of SA's best Down hillers (a more skill full rider than you will ever be cocklove)... It was on his second day of messengering when a new BMW did exactly the same thing.... He was lucky that the BMW was going faster than the taxi (instead of landing on the windshield he landed on the roof).... From what i was told the BMW was written off and my mate was left with the bill... (When you nearly get killed by someone else the natural reaction is to think that its your fault because you should have avoided it)...

Drop your attitude and stay the fuck out the way of cars dickhead.....

harden up!

Losing is for winners
