With the competitive spirit of people these days it is hard to blame people for being stand offish. But seriously guys lay off the cones. You can't be a messenger forever so don't hold it against someone if they move on. ACMC's are not about the racing. They are about catching up with friends "Old and new". Who gives a dam about what sort of bike someone rides or who's the fastest. Whats important is our community. Don't let trivial or petti differences get in the way of friendships!
Without ex messengers ACMC08 wouldn't have been anywhere near as fun as it was. Thanks guys.
aaaaar young ones!
' Nothing lasts forever
and we both know hearts can change...'
GnR appetite for destruction...oh that's kooky old shit now too , right?
Pharck, I got bored of it and all you youngsters are no where near as fast as the guys when i was a rookie..oh boy you shoulda seen the Martian on the Bridge..when it rained on him it turned to steam...serious!.. and ripped off Simon...and Yogi wasn't always such a fat fucker... mann...the old days were sik sk sik oh man when i wa s a young buck I had legs like a stallion and man a super something or other ...where's my ventolin...
and the receptioists were queuing up for piece and we were so fast(did i mention that?)...and we could ride.
...that bit about Martian on the bridge is true though...
Truly, I miss it like anything... but I couldn't stay happy.
Ex couriers are the only ones who truly have any idea how cool you kharnts are... who else could?
...GO LIKE THE WIND-flow like rivers...burn like the sun.. COURIERS ARE ROCK!

Here Here!
Thanks Doddsy, I can hardly agree more with that headline's sentiment. I started my foray into the messenger bidness in Canadia and loved it so much that I had to continue upon my return to Sydney. Met some amazing people, got a fascinating insight into one of the world's coolest subcultures, rekindled my smoking habit, learned to ride a fixie (mostly) and, in short, best two years of my working life. However, I was never going to be a lifer and I think the Sydney crew knows how it all ended. But when I wander out of my office building, whether it's a balmy 29 degrees or a torrential storm I still look at you guys and wish it was me.

How fast?
Paddy do you do careers counselling at school? Back in the day, the faster you rode the more food you could afford, the faster you could ride. Speaking of fast, is SYDBMA still affiliated so I can get my MTBA endorsement? Shifty? Anyone?
I remember eating my way
I remember eating my way though 400 bucks in a week no worries... Entertainment not included.
the statement faster you rode, more food was ultimately true, I swear.
Punch it chewy
Some things never change.

I like being an ex courier
Shit I loved riding for a living but it couldn't go on forever and I love watching the new guys roll through. Trying to guess who'll stick, who'll stop, who'll cut it up and who just will not get it no matter what. It cracks me up watching us oldies give the younguns shit too. It was tougher in my day, it was tougher over here, over there, in that decade. Fuck I don't remember. It was a blur of booze, bikes and drugs. I liked it, I hope you do too. Flying through traffic as fast as you can half cut is fucking fantastic no matter how old you are or where you do it.
I used to wake up and laugh at the world because some idiot was paying me to ride my bike?? What the hell. It's like being paid to be ten years old.
