global gutz. a few questions.
so, i'm finishing prep for the global gutz stuff and thought i'd get your views on a couple of things.
not sure how many of you have spent any time in brissy but it's not the easiest place to lay a flat course in.
from the city every direction takes you up.
i've heard some discussion of U turn courses and how this isn't a time trial etc, and i wanted to hear from some others on the type of lay out you are using (not the actual course).
one course i have in mind starts in the city center, runs out of town over a couple different roads, then u turns to come back part way, then different roads back through the city and out the other side, along a main road, then another u turn to bring it back into the city to finish.
it's the easiest way to get a good flat, simple course, and follows the guidelines such as they are.
but does that follow the spirit of the event?
the other one is more of a loop but i can't get one without hills in it somewhere, or being so convoluted that it's going to be slow as fuck.
i've looked at some of the course maps from last year and this one is straighter and simpler, but i'm sure every city is going to be going for as simple as possible.
so what do you think?
how are you laying your course out?
1 u turn ok?
or should i do a loop even if it throws in some hills?
don't mind the start time as
don't mind the start time as much as it happens to be the same night that the 24 hour MTB challenge is on and half the guys are going to that.
oh well.
hopefully we'll get a decent turnout.
decent for us is like 15 people.
loop da loop
I think that sounds fine TK. As long as you're not setting the course on a 10 k stretch of freeway both ways I think you fulfil the spirit of the event. Pity bout the 10pm start but
The industry's a joke
