Hey messenger chaps and chapettes,
Hope everyone is well and pulling in the big "end of financial year" dollars.
I need to tap into the great pool of knowledge that is the messenger community. I've just built up a Bianchi free-wheeling S/S for sale and have installed a lever that does both front and rear brakes. After some effort I've got both brakes set up with equal pull-up. Has anyone out there used or had experience with this type of braking? What kind of life span do you get before they require readjustment? They seem to loose tension quicker than normal, which is to be expected.
I also wanted to get an up-date on how Peter McDonald is going in Europe. I could try the Drapac Porsche website but this way I can get the inside running.
If Baden reads this, or if someone wants to pass on a message, do you still want the 'Poker' book?
Thanks again to all those who've offered support and encouragement to my fledgling business.
I look forward to any feedback re the above questions.
Keep the peace and ride safe.
Cheers!
Adrian

Back in september looking forward to checking the workshop Adrien work perhaps?
hey ask the Paragon!!!!
I did one of those '2 levers to one break' numbers on his bike using two noodles coming into a v-brake....Paragon didn'y like it though
Philistine!
If someone can't appreciate and celebrate old-fashioned Australian ingenuity then what hope is there for us.
If anyone wants to see my restorations, contact me or use your find friends in facebook, adrian knight, to see pictures.

Mate,
I saw The Stinky Monkey (not useless Nick) set one of these up for a guy with one hand. Looked fiddly.
Saw the bike a month or so later and did notice the brakes were still functioning but I'm unsure how many adjustments were made in that time.
I second the 'speak to Dave thoery' though. He'll tell you +/-'s.
What messengers don't know...
...isn't worth knowing!
Thanks shadow. Took bike out on weekend in the rain and all seemed OK after. It was great for carrying a coffee while riding.
Cheers!

Sounds like a Paddy
Sounds like a Paddy thing.
Got a pic. I wanna see how you did it.
Punch it chewy

Hey Yogi, sorry no pics as yet. Sourced lever from Dia-Compe US ready to go. Oversized nipple on cable that splits into two (a bit like a gyro cable). I don't think even Paddy could have "invented" one of these as lever has all the hardwear installed to do this job.
Come in and have a look!
