how to edit your post ...

Did u know that you can edit your post after you have saved it. (generally you would not do this if someone has responded to your post but rather reply with the update)

You can also place it on the front page of the site. just scroll down and look at publishing options

you can add images via the editor ... there is a little icon with a pic of a tree on it. click it and put the url (the link to the image on the web) of the image. Or you can upload it from your computer. there are limits to the files that you can upload. if you want your text to wrap around your image. use the Alignment, left or right.

click " disable rich-text" under the editor to get rid of the editor or click "enable rich-text" to get it back

my content... how do I?

What kind of content can i put on this site?

You can put on this site almost any content that is relivant to either the site, yourself as a memeber of the sydbma or about the sydbma. Do not forget that we may or may not agree with what you have to say.
see "differences in content" below for more

Do i have my own space?

yes. you have your profile where you can nominate your "avatar" (image that appears with your posts and more impressivly you have the opportunity to create a BLOG on this sits.. just hit "Create content" and "Blog entry"

Can I fix a mistake?
Although it is prefered that you do not delete an entry once you have posted it... the a week later you change your mind... You can fix typos if you made the content or you are a moderator..
just go to your entry and once you are in the story or entry ... you should see "View, Edit (and possibly),Outline and Track".

Obviously you want to edit your entry... dont forget to submit your editing or you might have to "preview" it before you can "submit" it.

Differences in content

Blog entry
A
blog is a regularly updated journal or diary made up of individual
posts shown in reversed chronological order. Each member of the site
may create and maintain a blog.
Book page
A
book is a collaborative writing effort: users can collaborate writing
the pages of the book, positioning the pages in the right order, and
reviewing or modifying pages previously written. So when you have some
information to share or when you read a page of the book and you didn't
like it, or if you think a certain page could have been written better,
you can do something about it.
Forum topic
Create a new topic for discussion in the forums.
Page
If you want to add a static page, like a contact page or an about page, use a page.
Poll
A poll is a multiple-choice question which visitors can vote on.
Story
Stories
are articles in their simplest form: they have a title, a teaser and a
body, but can be extended by other modules. The teaser is part of the
body too. Stories may be used as a personal blog or for news articles.

cant see a "text entry" area

you might come accross a text editor that takes up the whole TEXT ENTRY AREA so it may look like there is no place to add text.. BUt there is.. its hiding under all these buttons..

Just "click" disable rich text to see the text box. see the image.. (or right click /view to see enlarged)

areas where this is ovbious is in the profile areas where it looks like there is not text area (that is actuallt covered over by the editor.... and in the contact pages.
