New bike, please!

Hey guys, I'm coming backto sydney at the start of september and don't want to have to start working on a dualy again, so hopefully this will help somebody else out too. I'm looking for a SS (brakes and freewheel to start) drop bars preferably, but I'm looking at around the $600 mark so whatever's going so long as its reliable (you may remember my green and yellow repco, hardly captain reliability now was it?) This time I wnt to do it properly and not rid e a joke bike which cost me 100 bucks and breaks every second day. If you have something knocking about which you were umming and arring about selling, save it and sell it to me! I'll be back in Sydney around the 6th or 7th of september, please help!!!

A $600 dollar bike!

Wow Mr pjordan, you're really splashing out there @ the high end of the market, $600 !!!

Willing to go that high gee, you'd better ring Rasmussen & see if he still wants that Colnago, or maybe Floyds BMC.

thanks for your help

thanks for your help krankerr, but for a second hand bike I don't see that as a particularly low price for an ungeared steel or alloy roadie, my last bike was $100 and I rode it for 5 months in Sydney.

Cheeers

Thanks for the hepful input krankerr, really helped. After riding my giant trance couriering for a week whilst I saved some cash for a bike last year and having htat stolen, I have seen the problems with riding an expensive bike, whereas something around the $600 mark wouldn' be sucha blow if it were stolen, but still servicable as a second hand basic singlespeed bike shouldn't be too much more than this. Anyway, anybody who can help, I'll be there in a month!

winning is for losers

Ahh yea I'd  love to buy

Ahh yea I'd  love to buy something new, but when I arrive in sydney, all I'll be able to afford is about $600, no more than that. Looked into thenew option first, but just not feasible until I've worked a month or so, not using my mountain bike to start out again.

bike purchase info

Glad I could be of help. But seriously I know an ex-courier buddy who wants to sell his old team Raleigh track bike. 56 cm frame. Let me know if your keen.

Ebay

Get on the bay, look for singlespeed bikes or track bikes, they go from $200up for singlespeeds, from $400up for track bikes all depending on condition of course. Otherwise call Vinokourov.

i got what you need

I'm leavin town soon and selling my 54 cm black SE Lager that I got from Cheeky when I started in may. I've ridden it almost everyday since then but still rides like a champ. back wheel has a small wobble from gettin hit by a car but doesn't really affect it. free wheel with flip-flop fixed and bull horn handles. only problem is i'm leaving the 25th of this month, but if you want to try and work out a solution I'll see what I can do. i'm sure everyone's seen it around, I took off all the stickers so its straight black and looks sweet. let me know if your interested. gswan74@hotmail.com

PJordan is a different entity

Hello....
Im the person who calls himself "HyperHorse"...
I applied to be a courier, i shadow rode.. twice...
And Ive come to the conclusion that unless u are prepared to and can..
You have to ride like a maniac to even get the nod from the wanker
you happen to be riding with on the day.
Im sure i could do the job without having to ride like that straight away...
But i guess that's not how some of you like it.
Id go as far to say some of you are pretentious wankers.
Thanks for the help Shifty, you were the only one who really cared.
Anyway im just riding now for the exercise and the endorphins...
And whose brilliant *cough* idea was it to scrap the existing forums and start over?
*annoyed*
