As the only guy with the keys. I want to step down from my admin role.
I would like Tell Everyone that I have had enough of deleteing so may viagra adds and such.
I kinda get the idea That the perth guys are a tad more .. relaxed ... and sneaking in porn on the site.
With that and that they might enjoy your new national community. I am a member of a few sites that use social networking and spreading the people out over many systems.

Is it what the majority of us all want?
Will Sydbma.org just dissapear? (cos that would kind of suck)
Will we lose online memoribilia? (cos that would kind of suck)
I think the National messenger community should all communicate online via the same website (Online its more fun talking to mates around the country than it is talking to mates that you already talk to at work all day.)
If we have a national forum and website then i think at least one person from each capital city should have some level of responsibility and involvement when it comes to looking after the site.

It is a thankless task and yeah I even pay cash to keep it up.
As much as it is a labour of love it is an asshole when I get earbashed for being to this or that on the site and All I am doing is keeping it real.
The new ning site is one of the best social networking tools I have seen in a long long time.
it is better than Facebook and It is better than myspace. It is easy for anyone to become members and it is easy to create an event or a group, but best of all it will show all events and remove them once the date is over.
New content is easily accessible and you can connect to your own sites and such from it. Music, photos, videos are all easily uploaded.
I still have that national domain name that everyone wanted me to purchase (I will have to check what it was, but I will connect it to the site if after ACMC perth open forum if they wanna keep the austbma.ning.com site alive.. I do recomend it.
yes state members should and do/will have admin rep per state or significant group.

I want to help out by being the website Janitor.
That way i could look at all the Porn spam before i delete it (its a win win situation)
Id also like to take on the responsibility of teachin people in Sydney how to post things online. eg photos and videos etc etc.
it wouldn't mean much, I've got this kickass cheapass mini laptop so if anyone in Sydney wants some tips or posts something Dull or simply just makes any mistakes we could grab a beer or cofffee at somewhere with wifi and teach them how to pimp their posts a little.
Another one of the cons of moving to a new site, is that we'd be relying on people to renew their memberships.
Is it possible to make an announcement and transfer logins/passwords to a new website? Or is that a breach of some weird privacy act?
I agree Ning is fucking sweet, sydneycyclist.com and melbournecyclist.com seriously helped me get through a winter in Canada (cold nights inside), if we could follow the roadie scum designers trend with austbma a little i think we could all really benefit from this.
My original idea was to change the Sydbma logo, to a national logo and put all the sydbma, MDMA, neinlives, pushtheenvelope and even brisbma logos next to each other then direct other websites up sydbmas new skirt (while making at least one person from each capital city an administrator also)
But i personally think Austbma is a much better idea.
This is pretty bloody exciting to me.

A little less than a month later....

the national site is begining to evolve.
Unfortunately as an example I had to Start a few groups myself to put some actual filler on the site. If you saw some (*1)clevage then you saw the beta start up time.
I have tried to upload the pics that I had collected over the period of time that the sydbma site has been a showplace for acmc,cmwc, and a huge variety of artworks and pics of interest (I have much more too).
The membership of the site is nulti state now and there are a bunch of events already.
The site IS working out to be functional.
The transparent nature of it is self regulating. Although membership is open to public I will require help bannig TROLLs "when" we get one. And, we will.
So if you get messges in your "in Box" for a product unsolicted, please let an admin or me know.

(*1) : The current banner is of a world record breaking skid. By Simon from perf at last years ACMC. I spoke to dublin who states that theirs was longer but it was a cheating course with interesting skinds in mind. The Adelaide Skid track was amazingly flat. It was the straight in front of the start and finnish and pit areas of the race track there. There was no wind from behind and there was no bouncing or any kind of foul play.
